This position supports field technicians by answering technical questions, providing accurate quotes for repairs and replacements, and ensuring consistency in service quality and pricing. The specialist will leverage their HVAC expertise to troubleshoot remotely, guide technician decisions, and ensure excellent customer service and operational efficiency.Responsibilities and Duties:Provide technical HVAC support to field technicians via phone, email, or service platform in real-time.Assist in troubleshooting equipment issues remotely and help identify parts or repair solutions.Prepare accurate repair or replacement quotes based on technician findings and customer needs.Review and validate technician service notes and diagnostics for accuracy and completeness.Serve as the go-to internal expert on HVAC systems, codes, and best practices.Liaise between the service team and vendors to obtain pricing, availability, and technical specs.Assist in training technicians on HVAC service protocols, diagnostic steps, and repair standards.Ensure that all quoted work complies with local and federal HVAC regulations.Maintain and update HVAC reference materials, pricing databases, and manufacturer contacts.Support dispatch or service coordinators with job prioritization based on urgency and technical requirements.Collaborate with other trade specialists (e.g., plumbing, electrical) on multi-trade service calls.QualificationsRequirements:High school diploma or GED; additional HVAC technical training or certification preferred.5+ years of hands-on HVAC experience in residential or commercial settings.Strong working knowledge of HVAC systems, parts, troubleshooting methods, and trade terminology.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Proficient in reading and interpreting technical documents, service notes, and quotes.Familiarity with quoting software, service platforms, and Microsoft Office Suite.Preferred:EPA 608 Universal CertificationExperience in a service coordination or dispatch support role.Building Automation Knowledge.Working knowledge of CMMS or field service management software.Skills and AbilitiesAbility to explain complex HVAC issues in a clear and professional manner.Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills under time pressure.Exceptional customer service orientation when supporting both technicians and clients.Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities.Strong sense of accountability and ownership over assigned quotes and service guidance.Familiarity with ERP, CRM, and workforce management software (e.g., QuickBooks, ServiceTitan, Salesforce, etc.).Must know Microsoft Office and Excel. Strong oral and written communication skills.Maintain a professional, neat, and well-groomed appearance, adhering to Company standards.Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
