Summary
The Senior Financial Analyst reports to the Director of Financial Operations and will fill a key role within Surgery Partners' fast-growing region. This position will be responsible for budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and analysis metrics. It will work closely with managers, researching and analyzing financial information to help the organization make well-informed decisions. In addition, this position will answer non-routine correspondence and assemble highly confidential and sensitive information for a diverse group of stakeholders within and outside of the organization.

Senior Financial Analyst-National Group
Summary
The Senior Financial Analyst reports to the Director of Financial Operations and will fill a key role within Surgery Partners' fast-growing region. This position will be responsible for budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and analysis metrics. It will work closely with managers, researching and analyzing financial information to help the organization make well-informed decisions. In addition, this position will answer non-routine correspondence and assemble highly confidential and sensitive information for a diverse group of stakeholders within and outside of the organization.
The ideal candidate will have exceptional financial competence, strong business acumen, robust organizational skills, knowledge of financial analysis tools and techniques, and exceptional communication abilities. The candidate should also be able to balance the demands of a rapidly growing, complex environment and be self-sufficient and confident in their ability to steer the company in delivering its shortand long-term business.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Create reports and analyses to support a significant discipline, multiple disciplines, or a region.
  • Manage quality, accuracy, and structure of analyses to support decision-making by department leads.
  • Support P&L owners by identifying business implications of analyses.
  • Partner with other lanes (e.g., Accounting, Development, Integration) to ensure the accuracy of critical assumptions for models.
  • Support planning, capital allocation, and other financial decision-making.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and contribute appropriately during meetings following the guidance of the lead teammate.
  • Act as a role model to analysts regarding behaviors, approach to work, and partnership with other lanes.
  • Provide analytics and insight to support the decisions of more senior teammates.
  • Review and analyze results to identify opportunities where further examination may reveal profit opportunities.
  • Ability to organize and structure PowerPoint, Excel, and Word presentations and documents to effectively convey simple messages and influence audiences.
  • Appear professionally and use appropriate written and verbal communication skills to convey ideas.
  • Proactively examine and review reports to identify potential profit opportunities.
  • Appropriately share ideas and insights during meetings.
  • Appropriately prioritize time across several workstreams and partner with stakeholders when conflicts arise to ensure time is optimally allocated.
  • Work through appropriate challenges and limitations when executing analyses (e.g., identifying ways to overcome incomplete or imperfect data).
  • Offer ideas and suggestions to lane leads and Finance teammates that will improve operations and profitability.
Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of related accounting or finance experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of financial/accounting principles and procedures.
  • Healthcare experience preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of facility and corporate management. Demonstrating initiative, mature judgment, and strong customer service orientation.
  • Strong communication (verbal and written), project management, and analytical/problem-solving skills.
  • Must possess high integrity, professionalism, adaptability, and time management skills.
  • Advanced computer skills In Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with consolidation and financial systems; experience with OneStream, GL, and EHR systems such as Lawson, Oracle, Meditech, and Cerner preferred.
  • Demonstrated background in creating/improving processes and processes management.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple commitments.
  • Ability to work within SOX-compliant environment and maintain/enhance financial and IT controls.
  • Self-directed, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and assertive.
EDUCATION/REQUIREMENTS: Bachelors degree (B.A.) or equivalent; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
