Amazon MGM Studios is seeking an experienced Senior Manager of Solutions Architecture to lead our Emerging Technology team within the Studios Technology group. In this role, you will be responsible for driving innovation and introducing new concepts or technologies into our production and post-production workflows. Our vision is to empower Amazon's visual storytellers and Studios' teams by bringing ease, velocity, and new capabilities through media sciences, iteration, and invention. As the Senior Manager, you will supervise a team of talented solutions architects focused on researching, experimenting, and prototyping new media technologies. Your team will work closely with our Amazon Studios production and post-production teams, as well as external partners, to develop tailored solutions that enhance the agility, scalability, and efficiency of our production lifecycle. Key job responsibilities Lead and manage a team of solutions architects focused on R&D and emerging technology Drive innovation by identifying new concepts and technologies to integrate into production and post-production workflows Partner with internal Studios teams, AWS, and 3rd party vendors to develop and deploy pilot programs Help shape the strategic technology roadmap for the Studios organization Design, develop, and deploy scalable, cost-effective solutions to optimize production processes Oversee the Innovation Lab to accelerate the integration of new storytelling technologies Represent the Emerging Technology team and evangelize our vision both internally and externally About the team The R&D team drives innovation and introduces new concepts or technologies into the production and post-technology domain. Through research, experimentation, and prototyping, the R&D Engineering team identifies new technologies and ideas, and develops them into viable products and workflows. This team also seeks to improve existing production technology workflows and offerings, making them more efficient, cost-effective, and accessible to users. Our insights and proposals help shape the strategic direction of how the overall P&PT team can infuse/approach new technologies into the production lifecycle. This team will design, develop, deploy, and support tailored solutions that enhance the agility, scalability, and efficiency of production workflows. The team will thoroughly document and refine these solutions to optimize performance through automation, ensuring cost-effectiveness, and enhancing reliability, thus guaranteeing scalable deployment of workflows. The R&D team also oversees the Studio126 Innovation Lab which is a center for interdependent collaboration, where technology and stories converge to invent, study, and iterate in order to accelerate the integration of new technologies that bring ease to the storytelling process. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field 8+ years of experience in solutions architecture, R&D, or a similar technical leadership role Proven track record of managing and mentoring high-performing teams Deep understanding of cloud technologies, media workflows, and production/post-production lifecycle Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, and writing skills PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field 10+ years of relevant industry experience in the media/entertainment sector Hands-on experience with emerging technologies like AI, machine learning, virtual production, etc. Existing relationships and credibility within the broader media technology community Track record of successfully launching innovative technology solutions at scale Ability to interface with both technical and creative stakeholders Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
