Job Duties and Responsibilities

EchoStar

has an exciting opportunity for a

Sr DOD Program Manager

to join our Defense and Government Solutions Division (DGSD) team at our

Hughes Network Systems

division. This position will be located onsite daily at our office in

Gaithersburg, MD

. DGSD has a wide portfolio of opportunities spanning the full program life cycle from technology development to full scale production. The Hughes portfolio includes both hardware and software programs with considerable IRAD investment into future products. Recent program wins are leading to the expansion of our PM team with the opportunity to define new roles aligned with candidates existing strengths and providing for continued growth.

DGSD portfolio includes:

5G installation, maintenance and support for military bases, domestic and international

Satcom Software development

Space hardware & software development

Terrestrial satcom hardware and software development

Satcom mission solutions across the DoD .

(fixed, mobile & airborne)

Hardware production supporting satcom mission solutions

Drone and autonomy development

This role will assume responsibility for a portion of the above portfolio based on demonstrated past experience with the opportunity for growth into adjacent areas.

Key Responsibilities:

Assume P&L responsibility for existing programs to include HW development, HW production, SW development, custom 5G development and installation

Assume primary responsibility for customer interface

Manage existing customers and develop adjacent opportunities

Create program artifacts (Spend plan, schedule, milestones, invoicing)

Monitor the status of program execution

Skills, Experience and Requirements

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or related technical field

8+ years working on DoD programs

2+ years of program management experience and previous experience managing subordinate Program Mangers

2+ years of experience with program capture, bid and proposal writing

Must be capable of obtaining and holding a U.S. government security clearance

Ability to support 10% travel

Skills and Qualifications:

US DoD Secret Clearance

PMP Certification

Familiarity with EVMS

Effectively elevate problems when additional resources are needed

Strong customer and interpersonal skills

Familiarity with DoD contract types

Will be eligible for discretionary bonus, with funding based on company performance.

Salary Ranges

Compensation: $144,000.00/Year - $192,000.00/Year

The base pay range shown is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, and competencies; compensation is based on the role's location and is subject to change based on work location.
