Join the team as a Data Center Project Manager II, focusing on Critical Infrastructure Initiatives at Amazon Web Services (AWS). Our Infrastructure Services team is responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of AWS's global infrastructure, ensuring that our cloud services remain seamless and innovative.
In this role, you will become a key member of a diverse team that includes software, hardware, and network engineers, as well as supply chain specialists and operations managers. Your collaboration across AWS will help uphold safety and security standards while providing unparalleled capacity at the most competitive costs for our customers.
The Critical Projects Implementation (CPI) team focuses on managing construction activities within operational data center spaces. As a Project Manager, you will oversee critical infrastructure improvement projects that optimize space, power, and cooling utilization across our global data centers.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide oversight for projects involving electrical, mechanical, fire detection, and building automation systems.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to identify areas for improvement based on data provided by various stakeholders.
Manage the direction, coordination, and completion of projects to align with company strategy and objectives.
Design, develop, and implement innovative solutions to operational challenges within the data centers.
Basic Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in managing projects within data centers or comparable critical infrastructure environments.
5+ years of hands-on experience in construction or project management.
5+ years of experience in on-site construction trades, including mechanical, electrical, and general trades.
Experience in vendor management.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, or a related technical field.
5+ years in power distribution and data center mechanical cooling systems.
Proven ability to navigate a fast-paced, dynamic environment while delivering results.
