Join the Project Kuiper initiative, focused on launching a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites designed to deliver low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to underserved communities globally. Key Responsibilities: Design and deliver scalable solutions to complex optimization challenges in satellite constellation operations. Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to create software systems that meet mission-critical requirements. Develop production-grade, cloud-native software solutions in Java. Leverage AWS and other Amazon technologies to establish highly available software services. Mentor and onboard new team members. Lead the definition of technical roadmaps and determine the software services to be developed. Automate and refine processes for software development, testing, implementation, and maintenance. Ensure operational excellence by defining and improving operational processes. A Day in the Life: In this role, you will focus on building new cloud services and APIs that effectively manage customer devices, including software updates, telemetry, and self-healing features. You’ll design low-latency, high-scalability architectures that are crucial for delivering quality internet services to customers. About the Team: The Kuiper Data Science Platform team develops services for ingesting, transforming, and aggregating data from various devices within the Kuiper network. Our goal is to automatically identify, diagnose, and rectify issues while employing machine learning technology to monitor customer experiences and prevent fraudulent activities. Basic Qualifications: 3+ years of professional software development experience. 2+ years designing or architecting systems with an emphasis on reliability and scaling. Proficient in at least one programming language. Preferred Qualifications: 3+ years of experience throughout the full software development lifecycle, including code reviews and testing. Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field. Background in machine learning, data mining, or statistics. Experience with MLOps and collaboration with science teams on operationalizing scientific models. Amazon is an equal opportunity employer. The compensation for this position ranges from $129,300 to $223,600 per year, based on market location, skills, and experience.
