A law firm seeks an experienced Workers' Compensation Defense Attorney to join its Southern California office. The ideal candidate will independently manage a caseload of workers' compensation matters, ranging from straightforward to complex claims. This role requires strong legal skills, the ability to work collaboratively, and a commitment to delivering excellent client service.
Duties
Oversee and manage a full caseload of workers' compensation cases, ensuring timely and effective handling. Develop and execute legal strategies to achieve the best outcomes for clients. Draft and file legal documents, including pleadings, briefs, and motions. Represent clients in hearings, depositions, and other legal proceedings. Provide legal counsel to clients, addressing case-specific questions and concerns. Collaborate with colleagues, clients, and opposing counsel to resolve cases efficiently. Stay current with changes in workers' compensation laws and regulations. Maintain compliance with professional and ethical standards. Requirements
A minimum of 5 years of experience handling workers' compensation cases. Strong knowledge of California workers' compensation laws and procedures. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proven ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in negotiating settlements and advocating in legal proceedings. Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail. Native or fluent Spanish speakers are encouraged to apply. Education
Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school. Certifications
Active membership in good standing with the California State Bar. Skills
