Summary:

The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) Manager will lead and supervise a team of HRBPs, ensuring the effective delivery of HR initiatives that align with Equity Bank's strategic goals across bank offices in four states and supporting over 900 employees. This role involves providing expert guidance and mentorship to the HRBP team while directly serving as the HRBP to the main bank office in Wichita, KS and multiple bank branches. The HRBP Manager will drive HR strategies in areas such as employee relations, performance management, talent management, organizational development, and compliance, fostering a positive and productive work environment.

Responsibilities And Expectations

Business Partnership:

Collaborate with senior leaders and business units, including the HQ and regional areas, to develop and implement HR strategies that support business objectives. Provide insights and recommendations on HR matters to enhance organizational performance and employee engagement. Directly support the main bank office designated regional areas with comprehensive HR guidance.

Team Leadership & Development:

Supervise and mentor a team of geographically dispersed HRBPs. Provide leadership, guidance, and professional development opportunities to the HRBP team. Conduct regular one-on-one meetings and performance evaluations for HRBP team.

Talent Acquisition:

Oversee and assist the HRBP team in the recruitment process, including job postings, screening candidates, and coordinating interviews for key positions within assigned markets. Support and guide the HRBP team on talent management activities such as onboarding, career development, and succession planning initiatives.

Employee Relations:

Serve as the lead employee relations expert, mentoring the HRBPs through complex employee relations issues. Manage highly complex and sensitive employee relations issues, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and bank policies. Act as a mediator in conflict resolution, fostering a positive and productive work environment across all supported units. Work collaboratively with the Benefits Manager in addressing FMLA, ADA, and workers' compensation matters.

Performance Management:

Oversee the performance management process, including goal setting, performance evaluations, and development plans, providing guidance to the HRBP team. Provide coaching and support to managers and the HRBP team on performance-related issues. Assist in the delivery of Management Essentials to all leaders.

HR Metrics and Reporting:

Analyze HR metrics and trends to inform strategic decision-making for the HRBP function and supported business units. Assist in the preparation of the HR Scorecard and other HR reports for senior leadership, as assigned by the Director of HR and/or Chief HR Officer.

HR Compliance:

Ensure the HRBP team and supported business units maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. Assist with the development, implementation, and communication of HR policies and procedures.

HR Projects and Initiatives:

Lead and/or participate in HR projects and initiatives, as directed by the Director of HR, aimed at improving HR processes and practices.

Acquisitions/Mergers:

Serve as a key HR resource to employees during transitioning activities, as assigned by the Director of HR.

Required Skills & Education

Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or related field. A minimum of 7 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 2 years in a Senior HRBP or similar leadership role, demonstrating high potential to lead, coach, and mentor HRBPs. SHRM-SCP or SPHR certification is highly desirable. Relevant master’s degree is highly desirable. Strong knowledge, and experience with application of, employment laws and regulations. Proficiency with Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe, and Outlook, and HRIS systems. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills and professional demeanor. Ability to influence and build strong relationships with leaders and employees at all levels. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Responsible for understanding and following the applicable laws and regulations for their job responsibilities, including but not limited to Equity Bank Business Ethic and Conduct policy, Bank Secrecy Act, Information security, and Suspicious Activity reporting requirements. Other tasks, as assigned by the Director of HR and/or Chief HR Officer. Travel is required up to 20%.

Physical Requirements
