Position Opening: HR Business Partner
Department: Human Resources
Location: Overland Park, KS
Salary: Full-Time, Salaried with benefits
Summary:
The HR Business Partner (HRBP) is supervised by the HRBP Manager and will support business units by providing HR expertise and guidance on various HR functions including employee relations, staffing, performance management, and talent development. This role requires a collaborative approach to help align HR initiatives with the bank's strategic goals.
Responsibilities and Expectations
Business Partnership: Partner with business units to understand their objectives and provide HR support to meet their needs. Assist in developing and implementing HR strategies that align with business goals. This will include, but is not limited to, executing employee engagement initiatives and recognition programs; interpreting HR scorecard results and offering solutions to address issues; assisting with workforce planning; advising supervisor teams on appropriate team development strategies; and consulting leadership teams through the performance management program. Talent Acquisition: Assist in the recruitment process, including job postings, screening candidates, and coordinating interviews for key positions within assigned market. Support talent management activities such as onboarding, career development, and succession planning. Employee Relations: Provide guidance and support on employee relations issues, ensuring compliance with bank policies and legal requirements. Facilitate conflict resolution and promote a positive work environment. Work collaboratively with the Benefits Manager in addressing FMLA, ADA and workers compensation matters. Performance Management: Support the performance management process, including goal setting, performance evaluations, and development plans. Provide coaching and support to managers and employees on performance-related issues. HR Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. Assist with the development, implementation, and communication of HR policies and procedures. Assist in the delivery of Management Essentials to all leaders. HR Projects and Initiatives: Participate in HR projects and initiatives, as directed by the HR Director, aimed at improving HR processes and practices. Acquisitions/Mergers: Serve as the HR resource to the employees of the bank we are acquiring, as assigned by the HR Director. Required Skills & Education
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. A minimum of 3 years of progressive HR experience in a HRBP or similar role. SHRM-CP or PHR certification is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations. Proficiency with Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe and Outlook, and HRIS systems. Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to build effective relationships with managers and employees at all levels. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Employee is responsible for understanding and following the applicable laws and regulations for their job responsibilities including but not limited to Equity Bank Business Ethic and Conduct policy, Bank Secrecy Act, Information security, and Suspicious Activity reporting requirements. Ability and availability to travel up to 20% of the time, with some overnight travel required.
