Job Summary: MedStar Health is looking for an
Environmental Services Aide OR Technician
to join our team at MedStar Washington Hospital Center.

Environmental Services Aide I , you will be responsible for maintaining the appearance and cleanliness of MedStar Washington Hospital Center. This includes cleaning public, staff, and outpatient areas.

Primary Duties:
Performs cleaning and trash disposal of perioperative and surrounding areas according to industry guidelines and hospital policies. Cleans patient rooms, including trash removal, wiping surfaces, cleaning bathrooms, spot washing walls, mopping floors, stocking supplies, and making beds when rooms are empty. Indicates room availability telephonically.
Performs terminal cleaning with UV machines in ORs, patient rooms, and public areas. Uses electronic tablets for initiating UV cleaning cycles and data collection. Cleans beds used for patient transport, including stripping, cleaning, and remaking beds following infection control standards.
Cleans other areas such as nursing units, conference rooms, bathrooms, storage rooms, offices, kitchens, hospital entrances, corridors, and treatment rooms. Includes trash removal, dusting, wiping surfaces, replenishing supplies, mopping, spot cleaning walls, vacuuming, and responding to STAT cleaning requests.
Performs project work such as buffing, stripping, waxing floors, cleaning carpets, changing mats, cleaning furniture, washing windows, and moving equipment or supplies.
Stocks cleaning carts and supply closets. May prepare cleaning solutions and reports deficiencies to supervisors.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED
At least 3 years of relevant experience may substitute for education
6 months of experience in a similar role
This position offers a hiring range of $17.938 - $25.486.
