At PlayStation, we're looking for a seasoned backend engineer who brings deep technical skill, thrives in fast-paced environments, and values team collaboration. You'll build cloud-native, scalable systems that power joyful player experiences at global scaleworking closely with designers, client engineers, and product managers to deliver fast, resilient services. If youre passionate about high performance, seamless experiences, and shaping how millions of players connect and engage, this is your chance to make a lasting impact. You have: Excellent programming skills in Java and related frameworks like Spring Boot Experience in object-oriented design methodologies Experience building high performance and scalable web services Experience writing automated tests Experience in building and deploying applications using container-based solutions. Experience with MySQL or other relational database systems. Experience building applications using various AWS services Experience with one or more NoSQL databases like Cassandra, Redis, etc. Understanding of observability practicesmetrics, logging, and tracing using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, or OpenTelemetry Knowledge of event-driven architectures and tools like Apache Kafka, AWS SNS/SQS, or similar Experience working in an Agile environment A sense of urgency and ownership over the product Excellent written and oral communication skills Demonstrated experience developing and delivering both consumer facing web based solutions and intranet/extranet type applications for internal users and partners You may also have: Passion for games and player-centric design, or prior experience in the gaming industry Hands-on experience with load testing, profiling, and performance tuning of backend services Familiarity with feature flagging, A/B testing frameworks, or experimentation platform Experience with or interest in using Generative AI (GenAI) tools for improving developer productivity. #LI-TF1 Please refer to ourCandidate Privacy Notice for more information about how we process your personal information, and your data protection rights. At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each roles base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.

Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
