Position Summary:
JMT is seeking an experienced Facilities Construction Inspector to work in Charles County, MD. The role involves performing field inspection duties on water and wastewater facilities, and water utility projects. The inspector will oversee construction to ensure quality and compliance. This position is not eligible for employer-sponsored visas, except for TN visas. Essential Skills and Responsibilities: Perform Construction Inspection Interpret construction plans, specifications, RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and industry codes Evaluate field work for compliance with project requirements and standards Coordinate with contractors and engineers to resolve issues and non-conforming work Maintain accurate as-built drawings with field changes and RFIs Witness and document field testing Prepare detailed daily activity reports Required Skills: Proficient communication skills, both written and verbal Strong work ethic and dedication Ability to work independently and in teams Knowledge of construction testing, inspection, and commissioning Successful completion of JMT's Motor Vehicle screening Required Experience: Minimum 5 years in construction inspection or management At least 3 years on water/wastewater projects Experience with Electronic Project Management Programs High School diploma or equivalent (or substitute with experience) Preferred Experience: Associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management or engineering Experience acting as an Owner’s agent or responsible in charge Experience working with federal, city, county, or state agencies Working Conditions: Work involves both office and field environments, with approximately 30% office and 70% field work. Fieldwork may require climbing, walking, standing, and working outdoors in various weather conditions, with lifting up to 50 lbs.
