Chief Information Officer
Southern Connecticut State University (SCSU) is seeking a new Chief Information Officer (CIO). Reporting to the Vice President for Finance and Administration and CFO, the CIO serves as the University's most senior Information Technology (IT) leader and is responsible for creating, managing, and directing the IT vision, strategy, and roadmap to help fulfill the mission and vision of SCSU.
Southern Connecticut State University, for more than 130 years, has been a respected institution of higher learning that began as a two-year teacher training school in 1893 and is now a comprehensive university offering undergraduate and graduate degrees to over 9,000 students, including doctoral degrees. The university is committed to social justice, access, and equity, and is nationally ranked for promoting social mobility through public education.
Under the leadership of the Vice President for Finance and Administration and CFO, the CIO leads the University's IT strategy, operations, and functions, including infrastructure, technologies, and data management that enable digital transformation. The CIO oversees the design, development, installation, and operation of academic and administrative IT systems, ensuring an efficient and effective systems environment. The role involves developing strategic policies for IT use in support of SCSU's mission and strategic plans. Candidates from diverse backgrounds with experience in large, complex organizations are encouraged to apply; higher education experience is preferred but not mandatory. A master's degree is preferred.
