The Staff Accountant position is responsible for overseeing specific general ledger departments and supporting the hotel controller. The Staff Accountant reports directly to the Director of Finance and plays a key role in supporting all hotel accounting functions, including accounts payable, general cashiering, income audit, and financial reporting. Responsibilities include: Preparing and posting journal entries and monthly accruals Reconciling bank and balance sheet accounts Assisting with month-end closing and financial reporting Reviewing and processing accounts payable and receivable transactions Handling inquiries from guests, clients, vendors, and external auditors Maintaining supporting documentation for all financial activity Collaborating with operational teams on financial procedures and controls Supporting audits and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures Ensuring house banks are properly documented, approved, and maintained Performing accounts payable functions, including processing invoices and reconciling vendor statements Managing general cashier duties: issuing, auditing, maintaining hotel banks, preparing bank deposits, due backs, petty cash, and resolving cash discrepancies Supporting income audit, payroll functions, and assisting with inventory spot checks Contributing to monthly journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and analytical reviews of significant account balances Collaborating on special projects and process improvement initiatives as assigned Performing other duties as assigned by the Director of Finance Hyatt associates work in an environment that demands exceptional performance yet offers great rewards. Qualifications

1-2 years of accounting experience, hotel or public accounting preferred Strong knowledge of general ledger, accounts payable, and cashiering processes Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word); experience with financial ERP systems (Oracle preferred) Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred but not required
