Mechanical Engineer (New Grad / Entry Level)
1X Technologies AS, Palo Alto, California, United States, 94306
Since its founding in 2015, 1X has been at the forefront of developing advanced humanoid robots designed for household use. Our mission is to create an abundant supply of labor via safe, intelligent humanoids.
As we scale from research and development to full-scale manufacturing, we are looking for a Mechanical Engineer, Robot Design to own a set of NEO systems from a mechanical design perspective. In this role, you will design transmissions, structures, integrate sensors and actuators, perform FEA simulations, etc.
Responsibilities Design, prototype, and validate robotics (electro)mechanical designs
Integrate electronics, sensors and cables in robotic joints with large range of motions and tight packaging
Optimize parts and assemblies for weight and cost
Create quality drawings for manufacturing and production
Author concise documentation of design details, requirements, and test plan
Bachelors in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or higher education
Experience with CAD (preferred Solidworks)
Experience with structural FEA
Strong knowledge of manufacturing techniques to ensure manufacturability for mid and high volume manufacturing
Experience bringing complex products from concept to production
It will be nice if you had Experience with in casting/forging DFM
Experience in designing robots, understanding of kinematics and dynamics of robotics systems
Experience with FMEA
Experience developing highly complex mechatronics systems with several Degrees of Freedom
PCB design
Location Policy
We believe the best work is done when collaborating and therefore require in-person presence in our office locations.
We're excited to get to know you and the prospects of having you on board!
