to represent our in-house legal interests. Position Overview: We are looking for a seasoned
Corporate Attorney
with strong experience in automotive, dealership, or general corporate law. The ideal candidate will advise leadership on legal risks, compliance matters, and business strategy. Experience with California regulatory frameworks is highly desirable. Key Responsibilities: Employment Law
Provide legal advice on employment-related matters including hiring, discipline, terminations, accommodations, wage and hour issues, and employee relations. Conduct internal investigations and assist HR with employment litigation, administrative complaints (EEOC, DOL, etc.), and policy development. Support training and education programs for managers and HR personnel.
Deal Jacket Review & Compliance
Oversee review of deal jackets to ensure legal and regulatory compliance at both state and federal levels. Collaborate with F&I and Sales Departments to improve documentation and processes to minimize legal and financial exposure. Stay updated on evolving automotive sales regulations and advise on necessary changes.
Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, including vendor agreements, real estate leases, and service provider contracts as needed. Assist in risk management, corporate governance, and regulatory filings. Participate in audits and support dealership operations with practical, business-oriented legal solutions. Provide legal counsel on a wide range of corporate, contractual, and regulatory matters. Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, including vendor, supplier, and franchise agreements. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws, including automotive and employment regulations. Assist with real estate transactions, M&A activity, and licensing. Advise leadership on risk management and business strategy. Liaise with external counsel as needed. Qualifications: Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school. Licensed to practice law in Oregon; California bar admission or experience with California law is a strong plus. 5+ years of corporate legal experience, preferably in the automotive or retail sector. Strong understanding of compliance, regulatory frameworks, and contract law. Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills. Preferred: Experience working with multi-state operations or dealership groups. Knowledge of California DMV and automotive compliance laws.
