POSITION SUMMARY
Support the Southern California Conference ("SCC") in accomplishing its mission, "to exalt Christ by cultivating healthy churches and schools and embody its values of integrity with transparency, engagement, stewardship, unity in diversity, and relationships and team. In addition, engage in the mission of the Administrative Committee to identify, resource, coach, support, protect and hold accountable creative leaders who comprise our network.
Liaison between the SCC Office of Education and all schools in the Southern California Conference. Provide expertise and financial knowledge to help each school become financially stable.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Visit all schools.
Review fiscal year budgets for all Conference schools.
Make financial recommendations to each school.
Monitor monthly school financial reports.
Work closely with our in-house auditing service for our elementary schools and GCAS for our academies.
Attend finance / board meetings.
Revise or propose school budgets as needed.
Oversee, monitor, and control the Office of Education's annual budget.
Prepare financial reports for Office of Education and Board of Education.
Process applications for school safety and repair as funds are provided at the conference and union levels.
Process all student scholarship applications and the distribution of scholarship dollars.
Assist the SCC Treasury on additional projects.
Comply with policies and procedures of Southern California Conference, including but not limited to those in the employee handbook, and the North American Division Working Policy.
Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job, the individual must :

Must have strong working knowledge of AASI and APS systems, and
Possess knowledge and proven skills in office procedures, equipment and computer software (e.g., Word for Windows, Excel, Acrobat, and Access), telephone techniques, and English usage (spelling, grammar, punctuation, etc.), and
Possess the ability to meet deadlines and perform all job duties with minimum supervision; ability to work under pressure and with many interruptions, and
Possess the ability to foster communication among departmental staff, employees from other departments and outside personnel.

Education and Experience
Master's degree or equivalent in accounting related field is required; knowledge in more than one discipline. Requires seven to ten years' experience.

SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES
Must learn and comply with all Conference work safety rules; must be familiar with and always use appropriate safety procedures and equipment; must immediately report all unsafe conditions at the local school level to supervisor and / or the department of Risk Management; and must check with supervisor if there is a question as to the safe procedure to be used for any job function.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to do the following for prolonged or significant periods : sit, stand; walk; use hands and fingers; reach with arms; talk; and hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, and kneel. The employee must frequently lift and / or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and / or move up to 50 pounds (occasionally heavier). Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distant, color, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus. A great deal of time is spent in oral communication.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Essential responsibilities are performed primarily in a sedentary and comfortable manner. Tasks are usually performed under normal office conditions with little or no noticeable discomfort. Work area is well light and ventilated. . Extended hours and travel may occasionally be required. Any request for travel must have supervisor's prior approval. Travel will be in accordance with southern California Conference Working Policy.
