POSITION SUMMARY
The Philanthropic Engagement Director reports to the Chief Investor Relations Officer (with a dotted line to the Chief Marketing Officer) and works with Come Near’s Marketing and Communications team to plan and implement external-facing philanthropic communications and stewardship events. These efforts aim to generate financial support, maintain existing investments, recapture lapsed investments, prospect for new donors, cultivate high-level investors, and enhance overall giving to Come Near.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Work with the Investments Coordinator to create and manage the annual plan and schedule for related communications.
Provide input on the development of investor-related communications, messages, and methods. Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications Team to write and finalize investor-facing copy.
Ensure quality control for all investor-facing communications and develop methods to track campaign effectiveness, working with the Director of Investments and the Marketing and Communications Team.
Coordinate boutique bespoke events and investor conferences that steward donors and create opportunities for investment in Come Near’s mission.
Prepare mailing lists for investor relations, communications appeals, and newsletters, and coordinate solicitations and newsletters based on criteria set by portfolio holders.
Assist with the coordination of annual appeals, refining mailing and email lists to reflect potential donors. Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications Team for design approval and manage print and mail processes.
Work with the Investments Coordinator, Communications and Marketing Team, and Web Strategist to create and manage electronic giving opportunities and campaigns.
Contribute to the development of philanthropy messages and methods. Write and finalize copy for electronic communications following review and approval processes.
Ensure quality control for philanthropic electronic communications.
Analyze responses by appeal and list, and recommend future communication strategies. Prepare and distribute monthly appeals and response analysis reports, measuring response rate, average gift, and cost per dollar raised.
Attend team and organizational meetings, activities, and events as required.
Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Proven success in developing and executing digital and direct marketing strategies.
Ability to collect, organize, and analyze donor giving data.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of crafting compelling messages for diverse audiences.
Strong understanding of web design, donor database management, data analysis, and segmentation strategies.
Proficiency in graphic design tools such as Canva, Photoshop, InDesign, etc.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Creative, self-starter, capable of working across departments and independently to meet deadlines.
