Job Summary:
MedStar Health is seeking an
Environmental Support Associate
to join our team at Franklin Square Hospital.
As an Environmental Support Associate, you will perform various cleaning tasks to maintain patient rooms, offices, hallways, and other hospital areas. Duties include using floor care equipment, setting up for meetings, moving furniture, and hanging/removing curtains.

Primary Duties:
Change and hang drapes, curtains, and cubicle curtains. Clean and disinfect furniture, wheelchairs, shower chairs, over-bed stands, etc. Clean locker rooms, toilets, restrooms, and washrooms; replenish soap, towels, and toilet tissue.
Dust, clean, scrub, disinfect, and/or polish furniture, walls, woodwork, windowsills, fans, vents, blinds, radiators, air conditioners, mirrors, lamps, tiles, equipment, and bathrooms. Clean windows, door frames, and high areas using a ladder as needed. Dispose of soiled linen, trash, and waste. Respond to spill cleanup requests.
Maintain infection control through proper cleaning and sanitizing. Follow cleaning procedures. Report hazards or malfunctioning equipment immediately. Conduct routine preventive maintenance on equipment.
Perform discharge cleaning of patient rooms and prepare rooms for new occupants, including following isolation procedures. Conduct daily cleaning of resident rooms, nursing stations, hallways, and public areas. Set up and store chairs and tables for events. Move and relocate furniture and equipment as required.
Use floor cleaning equipment such as scrubbers, buffers, wet vacs, polishers, vacuums, and mops. Buff, strip, wax, and polish floors. Vacuum and shampoo furniture and carpets.
Qualifications:
Ability to read, write, and perform basic tasks.
This position offers a hiring range of $18 - $28.73.
