We are currently seeking a Director of Engineering to oversee the operations of the Engineering Department, ensuring that all systems operate to standard, all property assets are maintained to the highest level, and all legally mandated Life Safety systems are adhered to. Additional responsibilities include staffing, training, scheduling employees, and planning, organizing, directing, and coordinating all engineering activities to ensure efficient department operation and the preparation of required reports.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Supervise all engineering and maintenance activities to ensure high-quality workmanship and productivity.
  • Establish schedules for, and oversee the performance of all preventive maintenance activities.
  • Oversee and assist in establishing and implementing Life Safety and emergency procedures and training for all personnel.
  • Maintain records of all maintenance and repairs performed, as required by corporate policy and legal mandates.
  • Coordinate inspection and certification of all Life Safety systems and equipment as required by local regulations.
  • Conduct periodic visual inspections of all property assets to determine their condition, establish maintenance priorities, and identify areas needing improvement.
  • Develop and oversee the Engineering Department's operating budget according to corporate guidelines.
  • Compile lists of future projects and priorities for review and approval by senior management and corporate office.
  • Coordinate the preparation of the annual ADA compliance checklist.
  • Participate actively as a member of the Senior Leadership Committee and attend all meetings.
  • Oversee activities of outside contractors performing maintenance, repair, or renovation operations.
  • Interview, select, train, evaluate, coach, counsel, and discipline departmental personnel according to Loews standards.
  • Make decisions based on imperfect information; be agile with multitasking, and act decisively.

Education:

  • College degree required.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 4 years experience in engineering and maintenance or related professional area; technical training in HVAC, Electrical, or Plumbing.

Salary range for this position, based on experience, is $148,000 to $185,000.
