Located in beautiful Asheville, NC, Craggy Correctional Center is a minimum and medium custody facility for male offenders. This position is a full-time position with state benefits including health, dental and vision insurance, flexible spending account, disability and life insurance, paid vacation, paid sick time, paid holidays and retirement plans. Positions in this class are characterized by their performance of a variety of administrative, clerical, and office support duties. Positions require knowledge of the office or work unit policies and procedures in order to communicate information involving programs, functions, and services. Duties performed may include preparation of documents and reports, composition of memos and letters, the use of office technology, compiling records, organizing and maintaining files, posting information, greeting, referring, assisting visitors, clients, staff, and others, mail distribution, and photocopying. Positions may serve as the primary staff assistant to a department or program manager. Positions may serve as an office coordinator for a work unit. Positions require knowledge of the work unit policies and procedures as well as state and federal general statutes in order to communicate information involving programs, functions, and services. This position serves as the primary staff assistant for the Programs Administrative Section for both the medium/minimum custody facilitates and provides back up for the offender Trust Fund duties by entering deposits as needed/required. This position will also assist with the tracking and maintaining offender records. The position will also maintain records, files and compose routine communications both written and verbal. Must be able to plan work, understand and carry out written and oral instructions. The Administrative Associate will serve as a BEACON timekeeper by entering time weekly and running reports to ensure accurate entries. Must be able to work under stressful conditions and multitask while working under limited supervision. Must be able to well with team members to get tasks accomplished accurately and timely. The position must meet daily, monthly and yearly deadlines. ***This is an anticipated vacancy.
