Bartender

The Bartender is responsible for consistently delivering results that contribute to the mission and overall success of the hotel by accomplishing performance objectives covering the social venues of the hotel. The bartender sets-up, services, and breaks-down the bar area ensuring a high level of quality, consistency, and service. The ideal candidate has a passion for hospitality and providing exceptional guest service. Principle Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions) Include: Greet, welcome, and interact with guests in a warm and friendly manner. Take orders, prepare drinks according to recipes and serve all food and beverage requests in the bar. Demonstrate complete knowledge of the food and beverage menu. Prepare the bar for service by ensuring bar supplies, garnishes, utensils are properly set up in accordance with quality standards. Inventory unused liquor and beverages. Ensure that all liquor is properly secured before, during, and at close of shift. Adhere to all cash handling and credit card policies and procedures. Ensure that all drink orders from servers are accurately rung into the P.O.S. system. Clean and reset bartop and tables immediately after guests depart. Complete all closing duties and reports as assigned. Secure all liquors, beers, wines, coolers, cabinets, and storage areas. Adhere to established safety and sanitation guidelines. Adhere to uniform and grooming standards. Perform other duties or projects as requested by management. Qualifications and Skills: Must be at least 21 years of age to serve alcohol. Safe Server Alcohol & Food Handlers certification required Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Able to work quickly without compromising quality. Ability to work with minimal supervision and maintain a high level of performance. Attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous to all guests, managers, and fellow employees. Must be able to stand and exert fast-paced mobility for entire shift. Ability to work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team. Food handlers and TIPS certificates required. Previous front facing guest service experience required. Must read, write, and speak the English language fluently. Ensure overall guest satisfaction. Work Environment: Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to tolerate extreme temperatures - i.e. kitchens, freezers. Expected Hours of Work: Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. Must be flexible to work various days and various shifts of the week to include weekends, holidays, days, nights, and overnight. Regular attendance in conformance with the standards which have been established by the hotel from time to time is essential to the successful performance of this position. Education and Experience: Experience as a Bartender required, preferably in a high-volume bar. Experience with computerized cash registers preferred. High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.
