Pratt & Whitney is seeking a highly skilled machinist to support unique, one-off manufacturing operations for aerospace material and component development programs. Ideal candidate is an apprentice graduate with experience in tool making. Key responsibilities: Set up and operation of automated and manual milling, lathe turning, wire EDM, water jet and other basic machining equipment. Interpret and use blueprints and sketches to manufacture a wide variety of non-production experimental test specimens and tooling. Meet with customers to understand machining objectives and develop machining operation strategies. Trouble shoot, diagnose and support basic equipment maintenance. Knowledge, leadership and effective practice of Environmental, Health and Safety requirements. Train new operators in safe and effective use of shop equipment. Qualifications you must have: Must have an associate degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience. Broad experience with both automated CNC and manual manufacturing operations (lathe, mill, grinder, band saw, etc.). Must be able to multitask and parallel process on operate multiple automated machines. Ability to lead small teams to deliver outstanding results and overcome challenges. Working on collaborative, multi-functional problem-solving engineering teams including Design, Structures, Materials Development, Quality and Operations. Qualifications we prefer: NX or equivalent experience with CAD modeling. Graduation from a formal apprenticeship program in tool, die and gage making. What we offer: Benefits The salary range for this role is 56,000 USD - 112,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
