The Industrial Engineering Internship Program is targeted at college engineering students designed to expose you to the high technology, fast-paced world of aviation manufacturing with challenging assignments in the many disciplines of Manufacturing which include part manufacturing, assembly, and specialties such as Coating, Welding, Forging, and Machining. Development occurs with Pratt & Whitney Industrial Engineering training, data collection and improvement projects as well day to day assignments. At the conclusion of the internship, students will be presenting their results to high level managers and executives as part of their progression development in becoming a full time Industrial Engineer. Available internship positions are in the following locations: East Hartford or Middletown CT, North Berwick ME, Asheville NC, Columbus GA, and Lansing, MI. Key Responsibilities Evaluate operations and identify improvement opportunities, utilizing data analysis and metrics. Review and analyze work cell layout, process flow, material flow, to establish standard work. Conduct labor and machine capacity analysis to identify improvements. Maintain and update time standards for established operations. Qualifications You Must Have Enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate engineering degree studying Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field. Must be a U.S. Citizen. This position may require access to systems/tools that are restricted to individuals who possess US citizenship. Qualifications We Prefer Have a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Knowledge of manufacturing and assembly processes. Data mining & manipulation experience with Excel, VBA, SQL, other methods. Working knowledge of product manufacturing / process technologies. This position is classified as onsite. Please ensure this role type is appropriate for your needs before applying to this role. Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. The salary range for this role is $37,000 - $82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance. This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
