Job Title: Department of Museum Studies Social Media & Office Assistant Job Classification: Administrative and Office Services, Student Department: Museum Studies Hiring Manager: Lisa Rieger Contact: Lisa_Rieger@baylor.edu Work Schedule: 10 hours per week. Flexible working hours. Available for Fall/Spring Semesters Desired Length of Employment: On Going - Starting Fall 2025 Semester Pay Rate: $7.25 Job Description: Essential Functions Assist with the department's social media channels including Facebook and LinkedIn - 50%
Meet weekly with Professor Clark to set a social media calendar
Collaborate with other faculty in the department to highlight notable projects, field trips, and experiences
Coordinate with alumni and current students to highlight their stories on our social channels
Explore possibilities for other departmental social channels (Instagram, TikTok, etc.) Assist with library and administrative functions - 50%
Update library records as needed, keep printer full of paper, file any returned books, pull books for reserved shelves for MST classes
Help with administrative and library projects and tasks for the department as assigned Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Creative thinker with a general interest in museum studies and social media
Ability to work independently on projects
Attention to detail
Time management
Ability to effectively communicate in written and spoken English Additional Responsibilities Provide general office assistance and support Greet clients and visitors with excellent customer service; answer inquiries and provide information Maintain files and reports and ensure confidentiality of information Assist with various projects, activities or tasks as needed Ability to comply with University policies Maintain regular and punctual attendance Employer: Baylor University Work Location: Mayborn Museum Complex
