Entry-Level Substation Drafter
Location Ft Worth Secondary Locations Job Code 18606 Entry-Level Substation Drafter Job Summary POWER Engineers, Member of WSP is currently seeking an Entry-Level Substation Drafter to work in the Power Delivery Substation Department of our Fort Worth, Texas office. Flexibility is available for a hybrid work environment (candidate will need to live within a commutable distance of the office). Responsibilities The position entails drafting and design opportunities on substation projects that include physical and civil layout drawings as well as schematics and wiring diagrams. The successful candidate will be responsible for learning, understanding, and implementing CAD knowledge; learning client standards, practices, and procedures to ensure that work produced conforms to the client's standards and expectations; being responsible for knowing and following POWER's standards, procedures, and processes; collaborating on design issues; and seeking guidance from those with more experience. Required Education/Experience Associates/technical degree in an accredited drafting program, or sufficient industry experience AutoCAD and/or MicroStation experience Strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills in order to work effectively with other team members Legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship Desired Education/Experience Drafting experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation, preferably in an engineering work environment Experience with a 3D CAD system Knowledge of substation electrical schematics and wiring diagrams, and/or substation physical/civil drawings Experience working with scaled drawings Working knowledge of survey coordinate systems a plus Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel Experience with File Management Systems a plus Strong background in mathematics Reliable, detail-oriented self-starter who takes ownership of assigned tasks POWER Engineers, Member of WSP, is a global consulting environmental and engineering firm and one of the top design firms in the energy sector.
