Inpatient Rehab Admissions Liaison

Northwest Specialty Hospital, an extension of Northern Nevada Medical Center, brings expanded services to a new building located at 6225 Sharlands Ave. in Northwest Reno. The facility will offer acute rehabilitation and adult behavioral health services. Our acute rehabilitation services include occupational, speech, and physical therapy for adults recovering from stroke, injury, or another disabling condition. We offer advanced treatment for a wide range of conditions including stroke, brain injury, amputation, neurological disorders, major multiple traumas and spinal cord and back injuries. All patients will experience private rooms, have access to a newly renovated therapy gym, and personalized care from our qualified staff. This Inpatient Rehab Admissions Liaison opportunity is full time at 40 hours per week, offers full benefits and a convenient dayshift schedule. This position is for our NEW Rehab Hospital in Northwest Reno. This dynamic individual will, under administrative supervision of the Director of Rehabilitation Services the Admissions Coordinator manages, plans and organizes the rehab patients admission process. He/she works collaboratively with the team to optimize patient outcomes and maximize reimbursement for the organization; Assists with the accurate processing and collection of clinical data and subsequent submission to CMS via the UDS-MR software; Participates in developing and implementing marketing strategies that parallel the admissions process in collaboration with the Director of Rehabilitation Services. Job Duties: Conducts thorough pre-admission assessments of rehab candidates from phone inquiries, faxed referrals, and onsite assessments when appropriate. Makes acceptance recommendation to Medical Director and/or Director of Rehabilitation Services. Coordinates the referral development system designed to facilitate referrals to the Unit. Collaborates with in-house staff to offer rehabilitation services to patients at NNMC who qualify. Coordinates with staff to transfer patients promptly to the Rehabilitation unit to insure optimal patient care. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in clinical field (RN, PT, OT, ST, Social Worker) required. License per related field required. Clinical rehabilitation experience preferred. Experience or knowledge of Medicare Rehabilitation regulations preferred.
