Guidance and career development. Essential Functions: Ensure that federal, state, and local regulations pertaining to nursing service are followed. Support Presbyterian Home's policies and procedures and Nursing Department standards of care. Observe and preserve residents' rights. Communicate appropriately with supervisors, co-workers, other employees, physicians, consultants, residents, families, and visitors. Make recommendations to public safety and in-house therapy team members on residents utilizing motorized vehicles/scooters to maximize safe operation and inform therapy if there is a need for further assessment and/or education. Participate in employee wellness activities as requested (e.g., annual TB screening, respirator fit testing, etc.). Attend appropriate meetings (QAPI, Compliance, etc.) and education for care, services, and professional development. Participate as a member of the nursing staff in identifying and solving problems, and in formulating and implementing department goals. Be aware of Company corporate compliance policies including those having to do with confidentiality and security of information, and concern for the well-being of residents and patients. Demonstrate appropriate behavior and complete work in a manner consistent with these policies. Participate in resident transfer and transitions determinations. Assist with the coordination of on-site laboratory testing. Lab work organization: Complete requisitions and communicate schedules with lab/resident/staff. Provide observation ONLY of Respiratory swab testing in Independent Living residences. Perform or assist with diagnostic testing in Healthcare Centers. Communicate with nursing staff to ensure continuity of care for residents from admission to discharge planning. For certain providers, as directed by supervisor, schedule appointments and communicate scheduled appointments with nursing staff and residents/representatives. First Aid/Emergency Response, if available, including: CPR, airway management, AED use, Heimlich, wound cleaning and dressing, bleeding control, fracture management, assessment, comfort/reassurance, vitals, printing out of face sheet/DNR, etc. Coordinate and provide wellness counseling and education for residents. Schedule and coordinate vaccine clinics in collaboration with Infection Preventionist. Review and update resident incident reports from the day prior. Follow up on residents who were admitted to or returned from a higher level of care to check on their wellbeing and offer support. Functional assessments and medical history review for potential referrals with a written summary. Perform vital signs as needed and appropriate. Additional duties may be assigned as needed to support the goals and objectives of the organization. Education:

Bachelor's degree preferred. Qualifications: Active, current Illinois RN license to practice professional nursing. One year as an RN in a hospital (general care) or long-term care setting with adults preferred. Good communication skills. Familiarity with word processing software and EMR data entry. Interest in working with older adults. Ability to direct nursing assistants. Knowledge of aging changes and common health problems of geriatric patients. Current CPR certification required - accredited by American Heart Association. About Us:
