Offshore Completions & Interventions Manager

Murphy Oil Corporation is seeking an Offshore Completions & Interventions Manager to lead the offshore completions and interventions team within the Global Drilling, Completions, and Interventions Team. This role is pivotal in engineering design as well as executing safe and efficient operations. The manager will deliver top-quartile operations through technical rigor and drive continuous improvements. They will foster a learning culture by institutionalizing after-action reviews, technical mentorship, and knowledge sharing. This individual will ensure the team delivers fit-for-purpose completion, intervention, and P&A solutions by working with GOA asset team. The role also includes collaboration with procurement, regulatory compliance, JV partnerships, and technical innovation to support Murphy's strategic goals. The Offshore Completions and Interventions Manager will work in our Houston Corporate office and may work two (2) days a week remotely. Responsibilities

Lead and support the Offshore Completion & Intervention team technically and developmentally Drive top-quartile performance, safe execution, and adherence to Worldwide D&C and BSEE policies through rigorous planning and continuous improvement Champion a culture of learning by institutionalizing after-action reviews, technical mentorship, and knowledge sharing Support internal customers and influence cross-functional teams to deliver strategic opportunities Support Well Control/Emergency Response as QI; support mutual aid for Source Control Evaluate completion feasibility/options for merger and acquisition prospects Champion environmental, safety, and regulatory objectives for all operations Mentor and develop engineering staff and field leadership capabilities and for succession readiness Be able to work in both corporate and field environments Team Deliverables Include:

Engineering & Operations

Design and execute interventions with a rig or intervention vessels (including thru-tubing, remedial work, etc.) Generate detailed procedures for entire completion or intervention operations Design and install lower and upper completions (smart/non-smart, surveillance, subsurface control, etc.) Perform risk assessments and Management of Change and dispensations from policy for operations, rigs, and/or deviations from standard practices/equipment Completion design stress analysis Time and cost estimates Work with Procurement Team to develop bid packages and evaluate vendor/rig/intervention vessel options

Optimization Assurance & Continuous Improvement

Optimize completion and workover procedures to meet team and well objectives efficiently and safely Collaborate with asset teams to develop fields and solve complex well challenges Conduct multi-discipline peer reviews, HAZOPS, CWOPS, and comprehensive risk assessments to ensure operational integrity Apply best practices and lessons learned across all operations to drive consistency and performance Perform structured pre-job planning and after-action reviews to capture insights and improve future execution Maintain technical excellence through ongoing peer engagement, industry participation, and development of technology roadmaps

Licenses/Certifications

SafeGulf HUET (Helicopter Underwater Egress Training) IADC WellSharp Supervisor Level Well Control Certification ICS (Incident Command System) Qualifications/Requirements

Bachelor's degree in engineering Minimum 20 years of deepwater completions and intervention experience with a proven track record of safe and efficient operations Demonstrated leadership in driving operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives Strong commitment to HSE and experience integrating Behavior-Based Safety into operations In-depth knowledge of BSEE/BOEM regulations and global regulatory frameworks Expertise in Deepwater Completions / Interventions / P&As including smart completions, subsea systems, and rigless interventions Experience mentoring and developing technical talent within a learning organization framework Proficiency in digital tools, data analytics, and performance dashboards to support decision-making Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills across multidisciplinary teams Ability to adapt to dynamic environments and lead through change while maintaining top-quartile performance Active participation in industry forums, technical publications, or R&D initiatives is encouraged The individual is required to follow all applicable safety precautions. Work is performed almost entirely in a controlled (i.e., inside) environment and does not typically subject the incumbent to any hazardous/extreme elements; some positions may require regularly moving or transporting items weighing up to 25 lbs. around the office for various needs.
