Electromechanical Technician
We are seeking an Engineering Test Technician to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be involved in the build, assembly, and testing of prototype hardware. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate closely with Design and Product Development Teams, providing valuable feedback on design integration and hardware risk resolution. A strong background in building and testing prototype hardware is essential, as is the ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team responsible for maintaining an engineering prototype fleet. Responsibilities
Build and test products at all stages of design and provide manufacturability feedback to the design team. Manage multiple prototype builds through various stages of electrical and mechanical tests to ensure performance of critical hardware. Lead electrical checks of fully assembled prototypes to ensure they are flight-worthy after assembly. Troubleshoot hardware and software failures by collaborating closely with Electrical and Embedded Software Engineers. Brainstorm and prototype fixtures to resolve assembly or maintenance risks. Collaborate with Structures, Integration, and Mechanism Engineers to identify component issues and develop solutions that ensure optimal reliability and performance of drones. Essential Skills
Troubleshooting skills with schematic and assembly expertise. Experience in electrical and mechanical testing. Proficiency in scripting and R&D. Ability to manage multiple prototype builds. Experience in prototyping, assembly, or manufacturing of electro-mechanical components. Proficiency in running test scripts in Python Ability to model simple parts using CAD software. High level of craftsmanship and attention to detail with the ability to work quickly. Additional Skills & Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of professional experience in a build or test technician role. Clear communication skills and the ability to explain technical challenges and solutions. Experience in fixture building is a plus. Familiarity with CAD software is beneficial. Work Environment
The hardware test environment is a multi-disciplinary team responsible for building and maintaining the engineering prototype fleet. The role is part of an integration team under the engineering organization, focusing on electrical testing. Candidates should be prepared to work long hours, demonstrate eagerness to learn quickly, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Work is typically Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm, and the team encourages a collaborative atmosphere. Although PTO is not offered, consultants receive 11 holidays per year. Pay and Benefits
