The Tempo Operations Superintendent will be responsible for the overall execution of daily production plans within Home Chef's Ready-to-Heat (RTH) operations, ensuring efficiency, quality, and adherence to food safety standards across multiple shifts. This individual will manage and develop a team of Tempo Production Supervisors, driving operational excellence and continuous improvement. Oversee and Optimize Daily Production Operations Directly manage the execution of the daily RTH production plan across all shifts, including prep, cooking, cooling, portioning, traying, sealing, and labeling. Ensure production schedules are met and proactively address any obstacles or deviations in real-time. Collaborate with the Tempo Operations Manager and other plant leadership to coordinate production planning, ingredient readiness, and staffing to optimize efficiency. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production output, efficiency, and quality, making data-driven decisions to improve performance. Lead, Develop, and Manage Tempo Production Supervisors Directly manage and provide leadership, coaching, and professional development to Tempo Production Supervisors. Conduct performance appraisals, provide feedback, and participate in the hiring and promotion processes for supervisors and their teams. Foster a high-performance culture rooted in Home Chef values, collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement among the supervisory team. Ensure strong communication across shifts and departments, facilitating effective huddles and daily communications. Ensure Quality, Food Safety, and Compliance Standards Ensure strict compliance with all food safety programs (GMP, HACCP, SQF) within RTH production. Champion a "Safety First, Quality Always" culture across all production shifts and among all team members. Act as an escalation point for complex quality and food safety concerns, coordinating closely with Culinary and FSQA teams to resolve issues. Oversee the maintenance of a clean, safe work environment and ensure proper sanitation procedures are followed. Drive Continuous Improvement and Process Optimization Identify process gaps and lead the implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and efficiency improvements with the Continuous Improvement team. Utilize production tracking tools and reports to analyze batch data, yields, and line performance, identifying areas for optimization. Collaborate with corporate teams such as R&D, Quality, and Supply Chain to support new recipe rollouts, menu improvements, ingredient transitions, and process enhancements. Oversee daily/weekly reporting of production KPIs, team performance, and quality metrics to the Tempo Operations Manager. This position requires minimal travel. Minimum of 5+ years of leadership experience in high-volume food production, culinary operations, or manufacturing, with at least 2 years in a multi-shift or superintendent-level role. Demonstrated success in managing and developing cross-functional production and culinary teams, including supervisory personnel. Strong understanding of HACCP and SQF requirements. Experience with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and production tracking tools. Ability to manage and work in a cold production environment (?38?F). Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Track record of driving KPIs and meeting or exceeding goals. Open availability to work weekend shifts as needed.
