JDAI Coordinator

The JDAI Coordinator will compile, analyze, and interpret data on detained youth to identify procedural gaps or needed services. Identifies and expedites the cases suitable for early release and/or alternative programs. Assists the JDAI Director in creating, implementing, and monitoring efficient and effective processes regarding the use of detention, placements, diversion, and other programs, services, and resources of the juvenile justice system. Provide JDAI training to court employees and community partners. Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Reviews and analyzes the Juvenile Intervention Center (JIC) population on a continuous basis. Maintains knowledge and status of each juvenile placed into each secure or non-secure detention program for possible release or transfer. Develops expedited release or transfers plans when necessary. Maintains a working knowledge of detention alternative programs, placement resources, and capacities to effectively develop and recommend transfers, guidelines, and policies/procedures for programs developed as alternatives to detention. Coordinates a detention population review process with other departments (e.g., Judges, Magistrates, JCES, YEIS, Home Investigation) and outside agencies (e.g., FCPO, FCPD, FCCS, CPD) to obtain new case information to determine whether juveniles can be released from the JIC. Coordinates with other departments (e.g., Judges, Magistrates, JCES, YEIS, Home Investigation) and outside agencies (e.g., FCPO, FCPD, FCCS, CPD) to develop viable alternative placements. Supports reentry department in obtaining new case information and providing information to aid in detention alternatives and placement after incarceration. Collect and analyze detention screening and detention alternatives outcome data to promote the effective use of secure detention and detention alternatives. Supports the JDAI/JJCPI Director in staffing relevant JDAI Committees, training and educating staff on JDAI and relevant programs, procedures, and resources, and meeting the Court's obligations with respect to the Deep End Initiative. Assists families with understanding and participating in their obligations to the Court incident to their child's release. Performs other duties as assigned. Mandatory Training: Expediting Case Processing on JDAI Connect Eliminating Disparities on JDAI Connect Facility Assessment Training Fundamentals of Detention Reform Fundamentals of JDAI Positive Youth Development Minimum Requirements: Bachelors in political science, criminal justice or a closely related field. Possesses strong writing skills, communication skills, computer skills, organizational skills, time management skills, attention to detail skills. Ability to train JDAI material. Knowledge of Juvenile Justice system, reentry and experience with Juvenile Delinquency preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel. Experience collecting and analyzing data.
