Senior Coordinator for Housing Operations
As an integral live-on member of the Residence Life team, the Senior Coordinator for Housing Operations strives to foster a safe, collaborative, inclusive, and engaging living learning community. The Senior Coordinator for Housing Operations provides excellent customer service to all current and prospective students/parents, faculty, staff, alumni, and university visitors while managing the daily operations for the Office of Residence Life (including Residential Programming, Housing Operations, Student Advocacy, and Student Conduct). This individual must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong organizational skills. The Senior Coordinator for Housing Operations plays an integral part of maintaining and assuring the productivity, efficiency and confidentiality of the department and its staff. The Senior Coordinator for Housing Operations provides direction, supervision, and leadership to student assistants and summer student workers. Duties and Tasks: Serve as primary front office contact person for the Office of Residence Life. Support marketing initiatives, campus partner engagement, and policy enforcement. Oversee work orders, repairs and replacement needs with maintenance and custodial services staff. Maintain student files, vacancy information, and occupancy waitlist information for the Office of Residential Life. Managing large amounts incoming phone calls, voicemail, email, postal mail, and guests/walk-ins for the office. Select, supervise, and train 8
10 student office staff and summer student workers. Navigate the Residence Life student information system (Advocate and Residence) and other university student systems. Serve in an on-call rotation and respond emergencies and student concerns. Administratively support the Office of Residence Life professional staff Maintain all office supplies, petty cash, and reimbursements Access, input, and maintain all Office of Residence Life related forms/data Process budget reports for all Office of Residence Life departments Assist residents and family members in distress with referring them to the appropriate campus resources. Selecting, supervising, and training 6 - 8 office student staff (undergraduate) on processes and customer service. Create and manage all application processes for new and returning students. Support the Assistant Director of Residence Life with the room selection and waitlist process. Processing all paperwork associated with the Office of Residence Life. Administratively support the Director and Assistant Directors in the Office of Residence Life. Maintaining all office supplies and reimbursements. Accessing, inputting, and maintaining all Office of Residence Life related forms/data. Process budget requests and reports for all Office of Residence Life staff. Other duties as assigned. Educational Requirements / Qualifications: Bachelor's degree related to Student Affairs, Higher Education, or related area (Counseling, Communications, e.g.) from a regionally accredited institution Two (2) years of experience in residential life, student programs, and/or student leadership/development Experience responding to and managing crises involving college students Experience collaborating with and meeting the needs of underrepresented groups, enhancing inclusion, and advancing social justice. Working knowledge and application of Microsoft Office Suite/Office 365 and Residential Management Systems Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge: Knowledge of FERPA, Title IX, Clery Act, and Campus Save Act (including VAWA
Violence Against Women's Act) Knowledge of student development theory, leadership development theory within inclusion and social equity frameworks Techniques for effective presentations and communication in a multicultural environment Demonstrated ability to develop creative and innovative programs and services Demonstrated experience with processing budgets Knowledge and appreciation for diverse populations of students with evidence of a commitment to social justice and inclusion.
