Essential Functions Greet patients in a professional and friendly manner Operates conventional, fluoroscopic or radiology equipment to obtain images of designated body parts according to physician specifications and/or orders Assists with acquiring and opening product during procedure based on physician needs and orders; maintain supplies Demonstrate critical thinking ability to plan and implement patient care Ability to multi-task, complete all tasks in a timely manner Educate patients regarding the procedures Create and maintain patient electronic medical record (EMR) Ensure images are in the PACS system Maintain quantity and quality control checks to assure imaging unit meets standards required by laws, rules, and departmental policies. Clean, maintain, and make minor adjustments to radiographic equipment, including determining repairs needed to equipment. Protect patient and other personnel from radiation hazards Education High school diploma/GED Experience 1 or more years of interventional radiology or related experience Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system knowledge helpful Requirements ARRT Certification in Radiography Arizona State license BLS Certification (AHA) Knowledge Medical terminology Knowledge of the principles and practices of diagnostic radiographic procedures. Knowledge of basic chemistry, film apparatus, and film processing techniques. Knowledge of how diseases and injuries are diagnosed and imaged radiographically. Knowledge of human anatomy. Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions applicable to the work. Skills Strong customer service skills Strong attention-to-detail Analytical skills Attention to detail Interpersonal and communication skills to develop and maintain effective working relationships Abilities Ability to lift and position patients for the type of X-ray procedure required. Ability to work under pressure Ability to set up and operate radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment.
