Radiologic Technician (BMO)
for our
Southside Clinic . Please see below for the functions and requirements for this position:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Greet patients in a professional and friendly manner Produce quality radiographs to assist in the diagnosis of illnesses or injury Educate patients regarding the procedure Create and maintain patient electronic medical record (EMR) Provide patients with copies of the images upon request Ensure images are in the PACS system Maintain quantity and quality control checks to assure X-ray unit meets standards required by laws, rules, and departmental policies. Clean, maintain, and make minor adjustments to radiographic equipment, including determining repairs needed to equipment. Protect patient and other personnel from radiation hazards Maintain radiographic supplies EDUCATION
High school diploma/GED. EXPERIENCE
1 or more years of experience in urgent care patient setting preferred Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system knowledge helpful BMO required REQUIREMENTS
BMO Certification required BLS Certification Appropriate state licensure KNOWLEDGE
Medical terminology Knowledge of the principles and practices of diagnostic radiographic procedures. Knowledge of basic chemistry, film apparatus, and film processing techniques. Knowledge of how diseases and injuries are diagnosed and imaged radiographically. Knowledge of human anatomy. Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions applicable to the work. SKILLS
Strong customer service skills Strong attention-to-detail Analytical skills Attention to detail Interpersonal and communication skills to develop and maintain effective working relationships ABILITIES
Ability to lift and position patients for the type of X-ray procedure required. Ability to work under pressure Ability to set up and operate radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment. ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS
Position is in a well-lighted office environment. Employees may be exposed to disease, radiation, toxic chemicals, communicable diseases, sharp instruments, bodily fluids, and cleaning chemicals in the course of performing the work. PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS
This can occasionally be a high-stress work area requiring ability to make quick decisions, while being organized and prioritizing appropriately. Intermittent travel between locations may be required. Involves standing six to eight hours per day, walking, bending, and reaching. Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds of supplies and equipment and assist with patient transport and transfer.
