Inpatient Nursing Director
Directs the activities and functions of the Inpatient Services, which include Med/Surg, coordination of the personnel involved in the provision of nursing services with these departments. Collaborates with physicians for the implementation of policies, procedures, standards, and regulations for the departments to facilitate optimal Nursing Care. Assumes 24-hour responsibility, authority, and accountability for patient care activities and service operation. Coordinates and integrates services within the department(s) and with other departments. Formally responsible for making recommendations regarding policies associated with the job's purpose and essential responsibilities. Ensures staff assignments; staffing patterns; determine if patient care and treatment is appropriate and standard with current practice; determine if equipment is adequate. Direct Reports: 10 Indirect Reports: 52 Total Employees: 66 Hospital policies and procedures; state and federal laws, regulatory requirements regarding patient care and nursing practice, disease process, available resources for patient care and job performance, equipment performance and function. Effectively use technology, effective communication skills and problem-solving abilities; ability to delegate; ability to develop and work with budgets; effective management skills and ability to prioritize and multi-task. Risk of blood, body fluid contamination. Graduate from an accredited college of nursing. Current registered nurse licensure in state of Missouri. BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS and TNCC required. Minimum of 3-5 years of nursing management experience with increasing levels of administrative responsibility and authority. Med/Surg, ICU, & Case Management experience preferred. Bachelor's degree in nursing required with Master's degree in nursing preferred. Certification preferred. NVCI or equivalent class as determined to be required by the facility. Provides care for birth to pediatric (birth - 2 years), pediatric/child patients between (2 years - 12 years); adolescent patients between 12 to 18 years of age; adult patients between 18 to 64 years; and geriatric patients 65 years and older.
