Lse Prcr Intern (Special Events)
Town Of Apex invites applications for the position of: Lse Prcr Intern (Special Events) About This Position: Expected Hiring Range: $17.00 - 20.00 Work Location: 53 Hunter Street, Apex, NC 27502 Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm and weekend hours for events Posting Closing Date: August 13, 2025 What You Will Be Doing: The Special Events Intern will assist the Special Events Team, consisting of the Special Event Manager, Special Event Specialist, Marketing & Programs Coordinator and Volunteer Coordinator, in the planning, coordination, and execution of Town-sponsored and community events for the Town of Apex. This role will provide hands-on experience in event logistics, community outreach, volunteer management, and marketing. The intern will support the daily operations of special events, work with volunteers, and contribute to the successful delivery of community events that enhance civic engagement. This position reports to the Special Events Manager. This position has no supervisory responsibilities. A Sample Of The Essentials: Event Coordination Support: Assist the Special Events Specialist with logistics, including site maps, vendor negotiations, and event communications. Volunteer Management: Work closely with the Volunteer Coordinator to help recruit, train, and manage volunteers for events and programs. Event Operations: Attend and assist with on-site management of select Town-sponsored and community events, ensuring smooth execution. Marketing and Outreach: Collaborate with the Marketing and Programs Coordinator to develop promotional materials and targeted marketing for events, and work promotional tables during events. Event Logistics and Planning: Help with securing event spaces, supplies, and other necessary reservations. Assist with preparing event timelines, schedules, and internal staff communications. Community Engagement: Serve as a liaison between community event organizers, Town staff, and volunteers, ensuring clear communication and collaboration. Administrative Support: Maintain event and volunteer databases, track event surveys, and assist with the creation of reports on event success and volunteer participation. Participate in Special Event Logistics Committee meetings and contribute ideas to improve processes. Assist with the execution of the Town's Adopt-a-Park/Trail program and Bee City Committee initiatives. Provides meaningful and appropriate opportunities for volunteer applicants based on aptitudes and preferences. Develop social media content and assist in maintaining the posting schedule. Assist in organization and execution of marketing pieces for marketing packets and posted materials. Performs related duties as required. What You'll Need: Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's Degree program in Event Planning, Parks and Recreation, or a related field.
