The Metropolitan Knoxville Airport Authority (MKAA) is seeking a Part-Time DKX Crewperson to join our Operations Department at Downtown Island Airport (DKX). This role is essential in providing high-quality service to tenants, transient aircraft, and the public by delivering excellent customer service, performing aircraft fueling operations, conducting facility and airfield maintenance, assisting with aircraft movement and inspections, and supporting emergency response operations. Responsibilities: Assists with Airport Authority customer service, including processing customer purchases. Uses point-of-sale software for fuel tickets, oil, ramp fees, rent, and pilot supplies. Assists customers with travel arrangements. Assists with airport events. Answers phone calls. Provides aircraft washes and detailing. Welcomes transient aircraft. Maintains a cash box. Provides airfield escorts for contractors and non-base customers. Acts as an airport operations liaison. Conducts tours of the airport. Delivers aviation fuels and oil in various aircraft types. Performs quality control inspections and keeps accurate logs. Assists with maintaining adequate fuel on field, ordering fuel, and receiving fuel loads. Maintains the fuel farm. Collects and disposes of sump fuel. Identifies and contains oil and fuel spills, and maintains spill kits. Coordinates spill response with appropriate personnel. Cleans office facilities. Performs a variety of building maintenance and repair tasks. Services facility equipment. Cleans community hangars. Maintains inventory of pilot, cleaning, and merchandise supplies. Maintains the DKX purchase order system and a credit card log. Landscapes around the runway and airport grounds. Inspects and maintains security gates. Cleans, fuels, and fleet vehicles. Relocates aircraft by towing based and transient customers. Arranges multiple aircraft in hangars for storage. Wing walks moving aircraft. Marshals aircraft for parking. Jumps aircraft with dead batteries. Inspects runway lighting system and records outages. Keeps track of the airport flight logs for incoming and outgoing aircraft. Determines proper safety measures during inclement weather. Removes wildlife from runway area. Maintains the DKX wildlife database and logs wildlife at the airport. Reviews the Notice to Air Missions. Identifies and reports airfield security concerns. Assists with emergency operations for downed and disabled aircraft. Coordinates initial response. Maintains liaison with NTSB and FAA with regards to involved aircraft. Performs related work as required. The ideal candidate will have prior customer service experience, strong verbal and written communication skills, and basic math proficiency. Familiarity with point-of-sale systems, cash handling, and record keeping. Candidates should have knowledge of airport operations, including fuel and oil handling, facility maintenance, landscaping, wildlife control, spill prevention, and inventory management. Minimum Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent, with 1-year experience in aircraft fueling, towing, and accident response. Salary and Compensation: The salary for this position is $20.01 - $26.06/hour. Final salary will depend on experience (DOE).
