Investment Strategy Analyst

The Wellington Solutions team is a comprehensive investment solutions platform that partners closely with clients to solve investment challenges. Our mission is to deliver outcome-oriented strategies by integrating diversified asset allocation, multi-manager portfolio design, robust portfolio construction, and sophisticated risk management. The team has an extensive history in managing solutions and harnesses the power of the firm's active management capabilities to create the optimal portfolio for our clients. We are seeking to recruit an Investment Strategy Analyst (Analyst) to join the group. The new hire will form part of the Solutions Portfolio Management team, and will support the team responsible for the design, implementation, and ongoing management of our offering across public and private markets. The individual will work closely with internal and external stakeholders, clients and partners to ensure portfolios are constructed and managed in line with investment guidelines, risk parameters, and performance objectives. The Analyst will be primarily focused on helping the team to conduct manager research on our private fund allocations, the ongoing oversight and due diligence of those positions and in developing the analysis for oversight to support the portfolio management team. The role will entail investment management, risk management and portfolio construction concepts, and demonstrated interest in learning these concepts is important. Qualifications The successful candidate is likely to have: 5-10 years total experience with minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience with manager research, or manager allocation to privates funds; Experience in performance attribution and skill assessment of privates teams in drawdown/evergreen funds Analytical mindset with strong data collection, statistical and empirical research skills Comfort with intricacies of private markets, (equity, credit and/or real asset), the characteristics of specific private allocation and demonstrated willingness to dive deep on these complex topics Proven ability to ramp in analytics, and technology competency. Familiarity with programming skills is preferred, and experience with business intelligence tools would be advantageous; Intellectual curiosity, and a passion for rigorous research, capital markets, and the intersection of technology and investment management; Ability to: thrive in a multi-faceted, fast paced environment with multiple competing deadlines; work independently, as well as part of a highly collaborative team, where respectful debate is encouraged to best deliver client outcomes; Strong work ethic and attention to detail are essential traits, as are versatility and creative problem solving skills; Familiarity with risk management and portfolio construction techniques would be advantageous (e.g. knowledge of common industry tools such as Barra, Axioma, etc.). Communication skills - strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate deep research findings effectively to internal stakeholders (e.g. PMs, researchers, and other investors) are critical to success in Wellington's collaborative and interactive culture. Base salary range for this position is: USD 80,000 - 180,000. This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered when making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets; role; skills and experience; certifications; and education. This range is an estimate, and further details on salary and total compensation aspects will be shared with candidates during the recruitment process. Base salary is only one component of Wellington's total compensation approach. Other rewards may include a discretionary Corporate Bonus and/or Incentives, if eligible.
