Join our Data Governance and Quality team as a Data Governance Specialist, blending data analysis and engineering to ensure high-quality, reliable healthcare financial data. You'll drive data quality, enhance governance frameworks, and build solutions that provide critical insights into HaloMD's operational and financial performance. Responsibilities
Investigate and resolve data quality issues, implementing proactive solutions to ensure data integrity across pipelines and reports. Develop and enforce data governance policies, focusing on data quality, metadata management, and compliance with privacy regulations (e.g., HIPAA). Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and automate data validation processes for real-time alerting and enforcement. Design and maintain data governance dashboards and monitoring tools to track quality metrics and trends. Document data governance processes, definitions, and metrics, ensuring accessibility and clarity for cross-functional teams. Gain deep knowledge of healthcare financial data and business rules to support analytics and reporting needs. Follow best practices for development, QA, deployment, and source code management (e.g., Git). Work closely with developers and analysts to optimize data workflows and streamline processes. Embrace agile methodologies, tracking progress using tools like Atlassian Jira or Azure DevOps. Build strong relationships with business and IT teams, both onshore and offshore, to align on goals and deliverables. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field. 2+ years of experience in data governance, data quality, data stewardship or a related role. 3+ years as a data analyst or data engineer, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in SQL (e.g., CTEs, joins, text parsing) and experience building database objects (tables, stored procedures, views). Ability to quickly understand complex data relationships and derive actionable insights. Proven track record of meeting deadlines and communicating progress effectively. Strong collaboration and communication skills to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Preferred Qualifications 1+ years of experience building reports and dashboards in Power BI, Tableau, Grafana, or similar tools. Familiarity with healthcare or financial data (e.g., claims, reimbursements) is a strong plus. Experience with cloud data platforms like Snowflake, Databricks, or AWS Redshift. Knowledge of ELT tools (e.g., DBT) and orchestration platforms (e.g., Airflow, Dagster). Exposure to Data Governance tools such as Alation, Ataccama, Collibra, and Atlan Hands-on experience documenting data governance policies in tools like Atlassian Confluence or Notion.
