Cable Installation Technician (OCONUS)
Seeking experienced Cable Installation Technicians to build and maintain structured cable infrastructure at U.S. diplomatic facilities worldwide. Deployments range from 2 to 6 weeks, with opportunities to transition to subsequent assignments upon successful completion requiring a Top Secret Clearance and overseas readiness (active US passport). Responsibilities: Install, test, troubleshoot, and activate Category 6 UTP and fiber optic cabling systems. Operate and interpret tools such as Fluke 5000 testers and multi-meters. Perform construction-related tasks (install conduits, racks, cabinets). Adhere to TIA/EIA 568 and 455 standards for cabling installations. Work independently in high-security U.S. government facilities overseas. Ensure compliance with government security and infrastructure standards. Requirements: Top Secret Clearance (or Secret with eligibility for TS upgrade). Valid U.S. Passport for overseas travel. 3+ years of recent cabling installation experience; 5+ years for Senior Technician roles. Ability to work independently under strict security protocols. Preferred Qualifications: BICSI Certification (optional). Department of State experience a plus. RCDD Certification (Gold Star). Compensation and Benefits: Per Diem & Lodging: U.S. Department of State rates (no receipts required for M&IE). Hardship/Danger Pay: Available based on location. Technician Referral Bonus: $1,000 for referrals who complete their assignment.
