Database Administrator
LaSalle Network is hiring a Database Administrator to support and scale a high-performance data infrastructure in a dynamic, fast-paced trading and financial services environment. This is a hybrid opportunity based in Chicago, IL (3 days/week in-office), where you'll be part of a collaborative global team focused on maintaining and optimizing a complex database ecosystem. This role is built for someone who thrives in both day-to-day database administration and long-term engineering projects. You'll work cross-functionally with infrastructure, development, and support teams, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security across production and non-production environments. Database Administrator Responsibilities:
Manage and support enterprise database environments across SQL Server and other technologies Assist in the design, implementation, and tuning of databases to support mission-critical systems Develop and enforce best practices for data management, security, and high availability Support daily database operations, backup/recovery, performance monitoring, and tuning Collaborate with developers and infrastructure teams to optimize query performance and system stability Participate in on-call rotation and respond to incidents with urgency and precision Manage capacity planning and scaling strategies across environments Contribute to the implementation of cloud database technologies (AWS RDS, Azure Managed Instances, OCI) Ensure compliance with security protocols and regulatory standards (SEC, FINRA, NFA, CFTC) Maintain documentation, SOPs, and audit readiness for all database systems Database Administrator Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (preferred) 3+ years of experience in database administration roles Advanced knowledge of SQL Server and scripting languages (T-SQL, PL/SQL) Experience with scripting tools such as PowerShell or Python Strong understanding of high availability solutions (e.g., SQL Always On) Experience with database performance tuning, diagnostics, and internals Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Exposure to additional database technologies like Oracle or MongoDB is a plus Solid understanding of Windows and Linux operating systems Previous experience in regulated industries with a grasp of compliance frameworks Comfortable working in Agile/Scrum environments What's in it for you?
