Central Teams. This role provides tactical direction and operational leadership for our Quick Estimate and Total Loss teams. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the pace, accuracy, efficiency, and compliance of the estimates written and total losses handled by the team. Additionally, you will lead GAINSCO's storm response operations (CAT Team) and deployments, strategically planning and positively influencing team culture and engagement. What does a REGIONAL MANAGER- MATERIAL DAMAGE do at GAINSCO? Hire, coach, train, develop, and assess team leaders and staff appraisers. Oversee the efficiency, accuracy, and compliance of the team's work product. Monitor team performance, initiate resources, and provide guidance to improve results. Manage escalated negotiations and customer complaints, ensuring resolution. Complete quality assurance audits, appraisal reviews, and provide guidance on complex vehicle damage assessments. Maintain accountability for all work products performed by the team. Ensure compliance with state adjuster licensing requirements and complete all required Material Damage training. Ensure prompt and accurate handling of claims. Oversee damage assessments to ensure they are timely, accurate, and compliant. Communicate and implement new company programs, policies, and procedures. Ensure team members are informed of corporate and department policies. Lead special projects and proactively communicate with key personnel in other departments. Participate in interviews, selection of new personnel, and other staffing decisions. Identify and implement effective process improvements. Support recruitment activities and contribute to the development of a strong talent pool. What is required? Education: Bachelor's degree preferred Licenses/Certifications: To perform the essential functions of this job an active Texas or Florida Adjuster License will be required to comply with state and GAINSCO requirements. Upon hire, additional license(s) may be required. If that is the case, license(s) must be obtained within 90 days of hire date. All licenses must be maintained in accordance with state requirements. ASE / ICAR Certification is a plus. Experience: Minimum of three years of experience as a Material Damage Manager or Team Leader for an auto insurance company. Experience in writing auto damage appraisals and using software estimating systems. Experience with Excel, Power BI, or Tableau data analysis is a plus. Proficiency in using MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and CCC ONE estimating software. Other skills and abilities: Highly effective communicator through verbal and written skills. Skilled coach and mentor capable of developing appraisers and team culture. Effective in the ability to lead team decisions and build team performance. Demonstrates a high level of auto appraisal and vehicle repair knowledge. Partners and collaborates with key leaders to influence process improvements. Ability to travel as needed, typically 15% overnight travel. What else do you need to know?
