As the Curriculum And Assessment Coordinator, you will provide leadership, direction, and technical support in the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of curriculum, instruction, and assessment systems across RSU 21. In this pivotal district-level role, you will collaborate with district leadership, school administrators, instructional staff, and professional learning teams to ensure rigorous, inclusive, and aligned learning experiences for all students. Your work will directly support RSU 21's mission and strategic goals focused on equity, achievement, and innovation. Responsibilities:

Coordinate the development and refinement of a coherent PK12 curriculum aligned with Maine Learning Results and district priorities Lead and support the selection, implementation, and review of instructional materials that promote equity, differentiation, and student engagement Oversee district-wide administration and analysis of state and local assessments, ensuring accurate, timely, and actionable data use Build educator capacity through targeted professional development and coaching focused on curriculum, assessment literacy, and instructional improvement Lead and facilitate the district's Instructional Strategists as a cohesive team aligned with district-wide instructional initiatives Support school leaders and MTSS teams in using data to drive instructional decisions and interventions Partner with other district leaders to support alignment across academic and student support systems Present curriculum and assessment updates to district stakeholders, including the Board of Directors Provide technical assistance for accreditation processes, grant programs, and strategic planning Represent RSU 21 in regional and statewide curriculum and assessment networks Qualifications:

Required: Valid Maine Department of Education certification (078: Assistant Superintendent, 040: Curriculum Coordinator, or equivalent) Master's degree in Curriculum & Instruction, Educational Leadership, or related field Minimum of five years of successful classroom teaching experience Demonstrated expertise in curriculum design, assessment systems, and instructional leadership Preferred: Experience leading curriculum, coaching, or assessment initiatives at the district level Strong facilitation, communication, and organizational skills Experience in designing and delivering professional learning using adult learning principles Familiarity with MTSS, Universal Design for Learning (UDL), and culturally responsive practices Proficiency with systems such as NWEA/MAP, PowerSchool, and Google Workspace Competencies:
