Job Opportunity at the State of Hawai'i
The State of Hawai'i is offering a job opportunity on the Island of Oahu with a salary of $4,078 to $5,157 per month (SR-15, Step C to I). This recruitment is part of the Operation Hire Hawaii (OH-HI) project, which features an expedited hiring process for job opportunities throughout Hawai'i. Duties Summary
Provide technical support for the Health Care Financing Third Party Liability (TPL) program; explain its policies, guidelines, and procedures to recipients, personnel of insurance companies, and other concerned parties; and perform other related duties as assigned. Positions in this class have regular contact with others within and outside the department in which tact is required and the employee assumes responsibility for harmonious relationships. In addition, a position in this class must exercise discretion in releasing information without adversely affecting the recipient's legal proceedings. Minimum Qualification Requirements
To qualify, you must meet all of the following requirements: Legal Authorization to Work Requirement: The State of Hawaii requires all persons seeking employment with the government of the State shall be citizens, nationals, or permanent resident aliens of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States. Applicants must have progressively responsible experience of the kind and quality described in the statements below, or any equivalent combination of training and experience. Experience: Progressively responsible experience requiring the ability to read, comprehend, and apply written directions, or a high degree of verbal skill; and the ability to perform basic arithmetic computations, including percentages and averages. Claims Work Experience: One year of progressively responsible claims work experience in preparing and filing claims for medical or other insurance payments including ensuring that procedural and regulatory requirements are met, or clerical work experience in reviewing claims for insurance payments (medical, automobile, workers' compensation, etc.) including verifying that all procedural and regulatory requirements are met. Third Party Liability Experience: Two years of progressively responsible clerical work experience which involved reviewing medical payment data; pursuing reimbursement of costs in third party liability cases; and working effectively with attorneys, investigators, insurance personnel, and others in resolving problems.
