Under the general direction of the Field Services Manager, incumbent is responsible for the maintenance and repair of equipment, lift stations, sewage collection system, machinery, pipes, force mains, gravity mains, etc. Responsibilities include assuring the efficient and safe mechanical and electrical operation of machinery and equipment, assisting in the installation of new equipment, and repairing and maintaining equipment. This is a safety-sensitive position requiring screening for illegal substance and alcohol use. Work is reviewed by the Field Services Manager through observation and completed work orders for results obtained. Examples of Essential Functions

Operates various equipment, including but not limited to welders, torches, excavators, vac truck, septic truck, standard and specialized hand, and power tools. Inspects, repairs, services, paints, and maintains structures, pumps, motors and equipment. Replaces pumps, motors, bearings, broken valves, leaky pipes, and faulty equipment as directed. Maintains internal wastewater lift stations control floats, removes grease products from wall surfaces, and nets floating grease from wet well wastewater surfaces. Enters and works in confined spaces in conformance with established confined space permit protocols. Cleans wet wells and other structures and equipment as directed; maintains facilities and grounds. Maintains corrective and preventive maintenance work order records. Must be able to use a laptop, tablet and various required software modules. Performs plumbing in the maintenance of collection system and equipment. Operates power generators, electrical switchgear, control panels and various electrical industrial equipment. Troubleshoots control panels, pumps and equipment using testing equipment. Assists other mechanics and other personnel as required. Must be available to be on call and work overtime as needed. High School Diploma or equivalent; supplemented by three (3) years experience in maintenance and repair of lift stations, collection systems, electrical and mechanical equipment, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Must have a working knowledge associated with the use of full-face respirator. Must possess a valid Florida Commercial Driver's License (CDL), Class "B" with tanker endorsement within 12 twelve months of hire. Must possess FW&PCOA Wastewater Collection Technician Class C Certification or acquire one within 12 months of hire. Supplemental Information
