Local Driver
The Local Driver is responsible for transporting customer orders safely, securely and timely from one location to the next. This role plays a key part in ensuring an excellent customer service experience. A successful Local Driver is especially mindful of traffic and road safety, timeliness of deliveries and serving as a front-facing representative of our company to our customers. A Local Driver should expect to drive up to 12 hours a day Monday through Friday and be home each night. Provide and receive accurate paperwork for the orders when transporting orders. Interact with customers, obtain signatures for deliveries and address any questions or concerns. Ensure product is safely secured throughout transport. Communicate with dispatch and management to report delays, traffic issues or other relevant information. Adjust routes as needed due to traffic, accidents or construction. Safety and Compliance: Operate a new lease 2019 + International LT625 truck. Conduct pre-trip vehicle inspections and report any maintenance or repair needs to management. Execute compliance related tasks to ensure all transportation and fleet operations comply with federal, state, and local regulations, including the Department of Transportation (DOT), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) standards. Report information on transportation-related accidents or incidents to management. Other duties as assigned. Skills and Qualifications: Minimum of 2 years of recent verifiable driving experience with a clean record. Valid CDL Class A driver's license. Valid DOT medical card. Hazmat training preferred. Knowledge of DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, and other transportation regulations. Excellent problem-solving skills. Strong communication skills. Ability to work independently for long periods of time. Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of traveling in a vehicle and diving on the road. Why Work for HTI?
