Position Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Data Analyst IV with strong technical acumen and a proven ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable data solutions. This role requires deep proficiency in Python, SQL, and AWS, with a focus on supporting large-scale database, ETL, and analytics initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a background in the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) and be able to lead data integration efforts, write detailed specifications, execute thorough testing, and drive data quality across projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze and translate high-level business requirements into detailed database and ETL specifications (including source-to-target mappings).

• Partner with business users and technical teams to gather and validate requirements for data ingestion and transformation.

• Support the design and documentation of data workflows, pipelines, and models across on-prem and cloud (AWS) environments.

• Write and execute SQL queries to perform data validation, profiling, and reconciliation.

• Document business processes and database functionality to ensure traceability and repeatability.

• Collaborate with ETL developers, QA teams, and business stakeholders to resolve data issues and ensure quality deliverables.

• Leverage testing tools such as HP Quality Center (or similar) for defect tracking and resolution.

• Provide senior-level support in escalating and resolving complex data issues across multiple projects.

• Mentor junior analysts and contribute to standards and best practices for data analysis across the organization.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related technical field.

• 5+ years of experience in software development and data analysis, ideally within financial services or highly regulated environments.

• Expert-level SQL skills and experience querying large relational databases.

• Advanced Python scripting experience for data manipulation and analysis.

• Demonstrated experience working in AWS-based environments (e.g., S3, Redshift, Lambda, Glue).

• Strong understanding of SDLC and agile methodologies.

• Exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills with strong attention to detail.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.

• Strong multitasking capabilities and ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in parallel.

• Familiarity with QA/test management tools such as HP/Mercury Quality Center or similar.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional certifications in AWS, Python, or data analytics.

• Experience in financial modeling, regulatory reporting, or risk analytics.

• Familiarity with BI/reporting tools (Tableau, Power BI) a plus.
