Lecturer in Executive Programs
The CU Denver Business School seeks individuals with a demonstrated commitment to creating an inclusive learning and working environment. The CU Denver Business School seeks to establish and maintain a pool of Lecturers for Executive Programs from which future appointments to temporary, non-tenure-track positions will be made. Appointments will be part-time (less than 50% FTE) and will be made semester-by-semester, as teaching needs arise. This posting does not necessarily reflect a current, open position. This temporary Lecturer pool is anticipated to remain continuously active through May 2026, at which point all applications will be cleared from the pool. Applicants will be welcome to apply to future pools after that date. What you will do: Lecturers selected from this pool will teach classes in Executive Programs at the CU Denver Business School (Executive MBA, Executive MBA-Aviation, or future executive programs). Duties include delivery of tailored instruction to a variety of language and cultural backgrounds in accordance with prescribed curricular objectives and outcomes, preparing for each class ahead of time with balanced rigorous lesson plans, assessing student progress according to curricular objectives and outcomes, and adhering to program policies and procedures by reporting student offenses (plagiarism, cheating, absences, etc.). Classes taught will be at the graduate-level and will generally be limited to three credit hours. Lecturers teaching these classes will instruct in either one or multiple teaching modalities (in-person, online-remote, or hybrid). Qualifications you already possess (Minimum Qualifications): Master's or terminal degree in a business or subject-related field. Recent significant professional, technical, or managerial experience in the discipline related to the teaching assignment; at a minimum, significant experience is interpreted as at least eight years of duties and responsibilities. Preferred Qualification to possess (Preferred Qualifications): Prior experience working in the capacity of a consultant, preferably with an ongoing position that is client facing. Prior experience teaching or guest lecturing in a graduate program on the topic of business. Previous experience collaborating with MBA-level projects, either as a facilitator, participant, or client. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Knowledge and proficiency in related discipline. Demonstrated interest in mentoring and teaching in related discipline. Demonstrate an exceptional understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion with a commitment to developing equitable practices. Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally. Ability to demonstrate exceptional leadership qualities. Ability to effectively plan, establish, and implement teaching goals and objectives independently without guidance and direction from other faculty. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution. Conditions of Employment: Occasional work during the evening and/or weekends may be required. The CU Denver Executive MBA is an accelerated professional program eighteen months in length. The schedule of a standard course is eight weeks, with four in-person class sessions on Friday and Saturday in weeks one and five. All other class sessions are either synchronous online or asynchronous, with in-office hours contingent upon the modality of teaching assignment(s).
