Accounts Payable Specialist (Entry Level)
Location: Syracuse, NY Job Type: Full-Time | Hybrid Reports To: Accounting Manager About the Role: We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated Accounts Payable Specialist to join our growing finance team in Syracuse, NY. This is an entry-level opportunity, ideal for someone looking to start a career in accounting or finance. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a strong sense of responsibility, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to getting the job done right. Key Responsibilities: Process vendor invoices and ensure timely and accurate payments Match purchase orders, invoices, and receipts for accuracy Assist in month-end closing and reporting processes Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies Maintain organized and up-to-date accounts payable records Communicate with vendors and internal departments to resolve issues Assist with audit support and other financial documentation as needed Continuously look for ways to improve processes and efficiency Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred 02 years of relevant experience (internships or part-time work in accounting a plus) Strong attention to detail and accuracy Excellent time management and organizational skills Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision Strong communication and interpersonal skills Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software systems What We're Looking For: Initiative: You take ownership and follow through without needing to be asked twice.
